Change the Law or Move the Game is a project of Fenton and Presente.org
We are fans of baseball and fans of social justice–we were moved to act because we strongly believe the new Arizona immigration law is unwise, unjust and un-American. We believe that Major League Baseball shouldn’t give Arizona the honor of hosting such a prestigious event and can in fact help to be a part of the solution by making clear to Arizona that they do not deserve to profit from discrimination.
Fenton opened its doors in 1982 to create issue campaigns that serve the public interest. We have been part of some of the defining movements of the past quarter century, from ending apartheid to curbing global warming.
Today, Fenton is the largest public interest communications firm in the United States with offices in New York, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. We combine decades of expertise with creativity and innovation to accelerate progress on today’s most pressing global and national issues.
Presente.org is a Latino-led online organizing initiative, founded on a simple pledge seeking an end to immigration policies that exploit workers and tear apart families. Its growing membership regularly mobilizes around issues important to the Latino community, including immigration reform, hate speech in the media and race-motivated hate crimes. In 2009 Presente.org led a high-profile effort to remove Lou Dobbs from CNN called “Basta Dobbs.”
Cuéntame, a Brave New Foundation project, is an interactive video platform exclusively on Facebook where the Latino community engages and organizes around the most pressing issues nationwide.
MoveOn.org Political Action, with 5 million members nationwide, brings real Americans into politics to fight for a more progressive America and elect progressive candidates.
